I can't resist sharing a "moment" I just had with Annika. Upon going up to her room to officially end "cozy time" (ie: quiet/rest/nap time), I picked her up out of her bed. She squeezed her arms around my neck and legs around my waist. These were her words:
"It's so nice to hug each other. Hugging is a part of love. So is kissing.
And being a family is a big part of love."
Well said.

We made it through February!
Every year we just seem to catch our breath after Christmas and then February comes on fast and furious. Or maybe it just feels that way because Joe and I subconsciously drag our feet into the month, attempting to postpone the inevitable: our birthdays. And with Annika in school, Valentine's Day has taken on a whole new dimension. There are cards to create and cakes to bake and treats for the class party and let's not forget the school's annual cake raffle (our first). Phew ... we made it! However exciting these events were, our highlight for this February was a special visit from "Auntie" Lucie, all the way from Texas. What fun!
Catching up ...
I see that we are lagging a bit in keeping up to date here so while the chicklets are resting (..."sleeping" might be an exaggeration!) I'll attempt to get caught up with some pictures. Here we are keeping with that "Cinderella's other life" theme as in the previous post. I don't know why we spend so much money on toys when a simple mop and bucket bring such delight (why is it I am not so enthralled by that same mop and bucket??!) And yes, Megan seized her moment to wear Annika's helmet. Backward as it may be, she is thrilled!
