Princess Reality Check

Well, as you're well aware, we regularly live in the fairlytale land of make believe with two certain little girls believing themselves to be princesses indeed. So, with all the dancing and dreaming going on around here, I thought we all might benefit from a dose of reality. Afterall, Cinderella didn't start out as a princess, now did she?

Welcome 2008 ... and Prince Phillip!

New Years Day for us was much like any other, except that the new snow was particularly good packing snow, just right for building a snowman. So out we went into the backyard to work on the newest edition to our family ... Presenting .... "Prince Phillip"!

Christmas Eve

Well, Christmas finally came and the view through these girls' eyes is soooo exciting! We spent Christmas Eve in Hamilton: we went to a candlelight service at church (kinda challenging for parents of very excited girls with long hair!) and then came home to a cozy evening of snacks and opening gifts. Annika had long dreamed of a Sleeping Beauty dress-up dress since talk of Christmas first begun and Megan's single joy was her Cinderella Polly Pocket, seen above clutched in her right hand.

A couple of "sewing" books kept the girls very focussed for quite some time during the evening.

Annika was also very excited to open a box with skates, just her size! Megan, however, was significantly less enthralled with her new "cheesecutters" ... but they were all she could handle when she hit the ice!

Bruncager before bed -- a traditional Danish Christmas treat ... YUM!
